Led Zeppelin's Best Song Part 2

*That's the Way- Now, this song isn't widely recognized, but it is one of the most beautiful songs ever written. The lyrics cover several themes of the 60s and 70s and is quite possibly the greatest acoustic song ever. Jimmy Page and Robert Plant once again prove why they were the best as they exemplified pure emotion and beauty. This song is on Led Zeppelin 3 and is the Best Song on that album (in my opinion). Here is a clip from Earls Court 1975. Words cannot describe  this...

And now, after listening to these 5 songs, I find it impossible to pick the best. They are all so unique and original in their own way that it seems disrespectful to neglect 4 out of the 5. But, if I had to choose which one was the best I would have to say "That's the Way" is the best Zeppelin song. Obviously, that is just my opinion, but I believe it is amazing because of the fact very few people notice it. It is another hidden gem and a masterpiece.

Led Zeppelin's Best Song

Now, when you are talking about the greatest band of all time, it is extremely difficult to name their best song. But, the common trend for all of America is naming "Stairway to Heaven" not only Zeppelin's best song, but the best song of all time. I personally do not agree with this, despite Stairway being an incredible song as is. But, when looking at Zeppelin's best, I like to narrow it down to 5 songs-ones that were vastly different from the rest, and ones which showcased pure emotion, pure musicianship, and pure talent. Here is my top 5 list and then we will determine which song is the best.

*Kashmir-The song Robert Plant calls "the pinnacle of Led Zeppelin." Everyone knows the classic riff and the astounding lyrics expressed by Plant. Basically, this song is 8 minutes of pure power and bone chilling energy that is unlike any other song I have ever heard. The drums are perfectly executed and the guitar riff is classic and of course, Robert Plant nails this song. This competes right with Stairway.

*Since I've Been Loving You- Perhaps Jimmy Page's most epic guitar solo, as the solo is enough to be a song in itself. This song IS PURE EMOTION. Robert Plant and Jimmy Page shine as their instruments cry for the sake of love. In the words of Robert Plant, "SIIIINNNNCCCE IVE beeeennn lovin you yea" You cannot argue the amount of feeling and passion put into this song. It is without a doubt, among the best

*The Rain Song- The album Houses of the Holy was perhaps Zeppelin's best work, as they completely reinvented their style and provided their audiences with angelic music. The Rain Song is perhaps one of the most impressive pieces of guitar work I have ever heard. Jimmy Page proves why this band was and is still the best band ever by playing the most beautiful piece of rock n roll music-up there in the ranks of Beethoven and Sebastian Bach. Don't believe me, watch this...

*The Lemon Song- Led Zeppelin 2 was the album that made kids pick a guitar and start playing and this song, in my opinion, is the crown jewel of that album. Heavily bluesy, and catchy, this song showcased the pure genius of all 4 band members, as the guitar riff is soooo all over the place and insane, the vocals tell a story of frustration and are executed in perfect fashion, and John Paul Jones lays down one of the greatest bass lines in history. This song never gets old and is easily one of Zeppelin's best.
